Teenagers at Risk: Suicide Attempt
Abstract: About the record increase in
adolescent suicide attempts in a multipurpose regional pediatric hospital, and
the need, at the Mental Health Service of the hospital, to know their causes,
bibliographic research work is carried out of the factors possibly determinants,
which include epidemiology, the context that affects the vulnerability or
resilience of the individual, the absence of puberty, previous history of
mental health intervention, presentations, trends, treatments, strategies and
levels of prevention, law current. According to this study, some cases have
been considered in order to assess the relationship of these factors and
observed complications which could affect their reentry (eg. domestic
violence). As a result of these considerations, health campaigns, school and
advertising media education have been proposed to especially strengthen the
value of the order of the Law, which establishes the roles and respect for life
from the source.
Key words: adolescence, suicide
attempt, risk factors, prevention
